Mount Vernon Community Children's Theatre's 'Sound of Music' Features Students from 23 Area Schools

Three more performances set for Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Forty-three students from 23 area schools are performing this weekend in one of the most beloved musicals of all time—Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music," produced by the Mount Vernon Community Children's Theatre.

Under the direction of Tiffany Ford, with musical direction by Cathy Manley, this marks the first time the theater has produced the beloved musical in its 32-year history.

The show, which debuted last weekend, continues this weekend with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and a 3 p.m. matinee performance on Sunday. Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 online.
