ACCT's 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' Opens Tonight

Classic Broadway musical tells the story of the coat of many colors.

Aldersgate Church Community Theater (ACCT) will kick off its run of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ on Friday night.

Joseph tells the biblical story of the coat of many colors. Of his 12 sons, Jacob favors Joseph, and gives him a beautiful coat. Jealousy prompts the brothers to contemplate murder, but instead, they sell Joseph into slavery. Joseph experiences a series of unfortunate events, and yet his hopes and dreams sustain him. It is a story of faith, forgiveness, courage and repentance.

This story is told entirely through music in a multitude of styles including parodies of a French ballad, rock and roll, country, Caribbean and disco. The production is directed by John C. Waldron and produced by Bill Austin, Leighann Behrens, and Corey Latta.
