Winning Cash 5 Lottery Ticket Purchased in Alexandria to Expire Soon

A $100,000 winning ticket was purchased in May at a 7-Eleven location along Route 1.

Someone who purchased a Cash 5 lottery ticket in the Route 1 corridor is a big winner. But they have yet to claim their prize.

According to the Virginia Lottery Office, a ticket purchased at the 7-Eleven (5834 North Kings Hwy) for the May 2 drawing is a $100,000 winning ticket. Unless the person who purchased the ticket comes forward, the ticket will be worthless when it expires at 5 p.m. on Oct. 29.

The winning numbers were 6-15-18-23-32. The ticket matched all five numbers. The person who purchased this ticket should contact the Virginia Lottery immediately at (804) 692-7777 or (703) 494-1501.

"All Virginia Lottery unclaimed prize money goes to the state Literary Fund. The Literary Fund is used solely for educational purposes, such as upgrading technology in schools and teacher retirement funding. Since its inception in 1988, the Lottery has transferred more than $234 million in unclaimed prizes to Virginia’s Literary Fund," stated a recent news release from Virginia Lottery.

Cash 5 drawings are held every day at 1:59 p.m. and 11 p.m. The drawings are broadcasted on TV stations throughout Virginia and streamed live on Virginia Lottery and on the Facebook Page.
