Plan ahead with holiday schedules for local government, parks, libraries, trash pickup and more.

Fairfax County Government Offices: Open usual hours on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Closed Wednesday, Jan. 1.

County Trash & Recycling: There will be no trash or recycling collection on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Trash collection for both Wednesday and Thursday customers will occur on Thursday, Jan 2. Be sure to have your trash and recycling to the curb by 6 a.m. to ensure collection.

Recycling and Disposal Facilities at I-66 and I-95: Will close at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Fairfax County Animal Shelter: Open usual hours Tuesday, Dec. 31. Closed Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Fairfax County Courts: General District Court closed on both Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Circuit Court will close at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and remain closed Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Fairfax County Libraries: Will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Fairfax Connector Buses: Will operate regular weekday schedule on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Will operate a Sunday schedule on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Fastran: Normal schedule on Tuesday, Dec. 31. No operation onWednesday, Jan. 1.

County Parks/RECenters: On Tuesday, Dec. 31, RECenters will close at 4 p.m., except George Washington RECenter, nature centers, historic sites, Frying Pan Farm Park and Green Spring Gardens are closed all day. OnWednesday, Jan. 1, RECenters will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except George Washington RECenter, nature centers, historic sites, Frying Pan Farm Park and Green Spring Gardens will be closed all day.

County Teen and Senior Centers: Usual schedule on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

County Community Centers: Usual schedule on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
