West Potomac HS Teacher Appears on 'Millionaire'

Sal Olivo appeared on "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?" which aired Wednesday.

West Potomac High School history teacher Sal Olivo was a contestant on the game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” in an episode that aired Wednesday.

Olivo, an Annandale resident, made it up to the $250,000 question. Out of lifelines and unsure of the answer, Sal decided to not take a guess and walk away with his entire accumulated Millionaire Bank, which had risen to $68,100. If he had guessed incorrectly on the $250,000 question, he would have fallen back to $25,000 in winnings.

Competing on game shows is something Olivo is familiar with. His wife, Rebecca, was on “Jeopardy” about six years ago. Her one piece of advice to him was to “wear comfortable shoes.”

Sal said that if he won big on "Millionaire," he would travel, throw a big party and open a pub, according to a release.
