VIDEO: Green Is Gold at Mount Vernon Farmers Market

Weekly market sells produce, plants, flowers, baked goods, meats and more.

Wednesday marked the second week this year of the McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Farmers Market, held in the parking lot of Sherwood Regional Library.

Hundreds of local residents dropped by to purchase plants, flowers, vegetables and other foodstuffs and snack on free samples. The market is named after the late Gilbert McCutcheon, who passed away in December and represented the Mount Vernon District on the Fairfax County Park Authority Board from 1992 to 2010.

The farmers market will take place Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon at the library lot.
