It was pajama day Dec. 20 at Chesterbrook Academy locations.

Preschool and elementary school students from 10 Chesterbook Academy locations in Virginia have been collecting pajamas throughout December to benefit families in need.

At the Chesterbrook Academy in Chantilly, the students and teachers donned pajamas to sort donations and pack them up for delivery. About 350 pairs of pajamas will be donated to theKathleen K. Hanley Family Shelter in Fairfax, which assists families experiencing homelessness in Virginia.

Students have been collecting pajamas in newborn to teen sizes and have been learning the importance of giving back to the community and helping others.
