Speak Out: Do You Want a Farmer's Market at the Belle View Shopping Center?

A Mount Vernon Council of Citizens' Associations committee is conducting a feasability survey to determine residents' interest.

After Patch published a story about the MVCCA Consumer Affairs Committee conducting a survey to determine residents' interest in a farmer's market at the Belle View Shopping Center, many residents responded on the Greater Alexandria Facebook page, shared and tweeted the story on Twitter.

Kevin Peck commented on the Facebook post, saying, "Much needed and would be very successful. There are so many people within walking distance and also so close to Old Town."

In the past, many residents have expressed interest in a farmer's market in this area of Alexandria. Some residents don't support the idea if a new farmer's market would prompt the market at the Sherwood Regional Library.

On the Facebook post, LeahRae Collister Kinder said, "Would it be an additional FM, or would it be replacing the one at Sherwood Hall Library? If so, I'm not for it!"

In it recent press release about the farmer's market survey, the MVCCA clarified that a farmer's market at the Belle View Shopping Center would not affect the farmer's market scheduled at Sherwood Regional Library.
