The new store on Richmond Highway officially opened Thursday.
The long-awaited Costco finally opened at 8 a.m. Thursday. Residents have patiently waited while also dealing with traffic on Richmond Highway due to construction for the new store.
Coscto gave a preview of the store Wednesday before officially opening to customers Thursday. The addition of Costco to the Route 1 corridor is part of ongoing revitalization to the Alexandria area. Other project currently in progress include Fordson Place and Insight Huntington Metro.
