Members of the community anticipating the opening of a new Wegmans will have to wait another year.
According to the Washington Business Journal, the Alexandria-area Wegmans will open as a part of the new Hilltop Village Center in 2015. Wegmans spokesman Jo Natale said the opening was delayed due to logistics with the store's layout and permit process.
The grocery store will occupy 143,000 square feet of the center which features retail businesses and office facilities.
