National Weather Service Issues Flash Flood Watch for Fairfax County

Just before 6 a.m. Friday, The National Weather Service announced that the Fairfax County area may receive between 2-4 inches of rain in the next 3-4 hours. A Flash Flood Watch is currently in effect until Friday evening. A River Watch Alert was also issued Friday morning, warning of a chance of significant street flooding and possible structural flooding due to the storm.

Residents are encouraged to move their vehicles to high elevations and remove valuable items from their basements.
