Evolution Home to Open Saturday on Richmond Highway

The green building on Richmond Highway will officially open its doors this weekend and welcome customers into what is now Evolution Home — a vintage, antique and consignment home furnishings store. The grand opening for the new store in the Route 1 corridor will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Previously, the business was located on Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray for 14 years. It was formerly known as Potomac West Interiors and Not Too Shabby Consignments. At the new location, customers will find an array of vintage and antique goods - mid-century modern furnishings, primitive accessories, luxedesigner pillows and vintage furniture.

Owner Susan Driscoll said she "hopes that Evolution Home will be a vintage and antique shopping destination for those in the neighborhood and the DC metro area."

Evolution Home is located at t 6239 Shields Ave. on the corner of Richmond Highway and North Kings Highway. The hours of operation for the store are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
