Not All Green is “Green”: The Challenge of Invasive Exotic Plants

Some of the green we see along the George Washington Memorial Parkway and in our own yards may not be a good thing. Invasive exotic plants like English ivy, bush honeysuckle and porcelainberry take over, killing trees and squeezing out native plants and the wildlife that depends on them.

Join National Park Service ecologist Erik Oberg and Audubon Society of Northern Virginia naturalist Cliff Fairweather to learn how to halt the invasion.  We’ll hear about growing beautiful native plants that will create sanctuary for birds and butterflies and improve curb appeal of your property.

FREE. To attend, RSVP to chair.er@mvcca.org by March 21st (or call 703-360-0691 with questions).
