Committee Advocates School-Boundary Changes as a Solution to Overcrowding

Council believes moving students to a school within a boundary with space mitigates overcrowding.

The facilities planning advisory council (FPAC) has proposed that the Fairfax County School Board consider changes to boundaries as a way to mitigate overcrowding in Fairfax County Schools.

According to the FPAC report, the council believes the best solution to reduce overcrowded schools is to transfer students to schools with space. Some schools within the same boundaries have overcrowding issues, and it creates a burden for students and teachers.
