Alexandria Neighborhoods Participating in National Night Out

The countywide event is scheduled from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

National Night Out 2013 is scheduled for Aug. 6. Various events are planned in different neighborhoods all over Fairfax County from 6-9 p.m.

Some neighborhoods have registered with FCPD to participate in the Lights On Campaign, where residents in a neighborhood have decided to turn on their outside lights from 6-9 p.m. instead of planning an event.

The Mount Vernon District has the following neighborhoods registered for events for National Night Out:

  • Belle Haven Estates
  • Belle Haven on the Green
  • Belle View Condos
  • Bucknell Manor
  • Creekside Apartments
  • Engleside
  • Ft. Lyon Heights
  • Grove at Huntley Meadows
  • Groveton
  • Gum Springs Community Center
  • Jefferson Manor
  • Kings Gardens Apartments
  • Meadow Woods Apartments
  • Memorial Heights
  • New Alexandria
  • Pavilions at Huntington Metro
  • Pinewood Lakes
  • Pinewood Lawns
  • Roxbury of Mt Vernon

National Night Out involves communities coming together to plan block parties or smaller group events to meet each other and support crime and drug prevention in Fairfax County. The size of these events differ for each neighborhood and is totally up to the community. FCPD officers often stop by some of the events to meet residents.
