  1. Today at 1pm, the monthly meeting of the Mount Vernon Genealogical Society will feature a presentation by Steve Luxenberg on Genealogy From the Inside Out: Tracing a Family Secret From a Single Clue. The meeting location is , 1500 Shenandoah Rd, Alexandria, VA 22308.
  2.  is hosting an Educational Summit on gangs in its Kogelman Theatre this afternoon at 2:30pm. The event is open to the community. The address is 6500 Quander Road, Alexandria, VA 22307.
  3. Mt. Vernon District Democratic Committee Members will vote on whether they will endorse Mount Vernon School Board member Dan Storck. At large candidates Maria Allen, Greg Brandon, Ryan McElveen, and Ted Velkoff will also face questions from the committee. The MVDDC meeting is 7-9 pm on Tuesday, May 17, at the South County Center.
