Washington Navy Yard Shooting: Notes From The Lockdown

At least one gunman killed a dozen people on Monday at the Washington Navy Yard. The manhunt, and the potential of a second shooter, put buildings and schools in the area on lockdown.

Later in the day, fears of attacks required lockdowns in Senate offices and at the White House.

It's not surprising that many took to Twitter and Facebook to alert family that they were safe in the lockdown, but unable to exit their offices.
