I don't know when this started, but find that there are fewer and fewer stories that have anything to do with DelRay or Alexandria appearing on these patch emails. At best, these are regional stories, not specific to our neighborhoods in Alexandria. And even then, even if I did want to read a story about a regional oxycodone ring being broken up, I have to make three or four clicks to read the actual story. It's like they're trying to get as many clicks as possible. What's happened? I'm about to unsubscribe. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, the Patch definitely has deteriorated. I believe it has run into financial problems and has reduced staff and consolidated so it has lost the neighborhood focus. I now read Alexandrianews.com.

Thanks Jon. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I think the Patch is owned by America Online which is losing money on it. Perhaps the editor would like to comment.

Patch was spun off by AOL earlier this year... it's definitely not the quality local news source it used to be. I don't even think they have one local reporter covering Alexandria any more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patch_Media
