Motorists should expect delays on the I-395/95 corridor this weekend as the Virginia Department of Transportation continues with major roadway closures Friday night through Monday morning to facilitate construction along the I-395/95 corridor from the Washington D.C. Line to Garrisonville Road in Stafford County.
Motorists should plan alternative routes to avoid delays.
All HOV lanes on I-395/95 will close at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28. Motorists will be directed to use the general-purpose lanes between the District line and Dumfries. This weekend closure is scheduled to be in place through mid-November. I-95 South at Exit 143 Closed Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 During Overnight Hours; Traffic Detoured to Route 1
All lanes are scheduled to close Friday and Saturday nights on I-95 south just before Exit 148 for the Marine Corps Base Quantico-Russell Road to Garrisonville Road, Exit 143. Traffic will be detoured to Route 1. Lanes will begin closing on both nights at 9:30 p.m. with all lanes closed between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.
This closure will allow crews to safely lift the remaining steel beams for a new bridge that will carry traffic from the future 95 Express Lanes located in the median to the right side of I-95 south, just north of the Garrisonville Road exit.
