Farmers Market, Chaise Lounge Band and Comedy Night

Here are 5 things you should know about in Alexandria for Aug. 14.

You've made it to the middle of the week. To celebrate, here are a few events in the Alexandria area you should know about for Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Farmers Market. If you're up bright and early Wednesday, stop by the Mount Vernon Farmers Market at Sherwood Regional Library. The market is open from 8 a.m. to noon every Wednesday until mid-December.

Chaise Lounge Band. If you're looking for great entertainment Wednesday evening, try Lee District's free concert at Lee District Park with Chaise Lounge Band. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Closures on Mount Vernon Trail. NRG Energy to perform maintenance on trail segment located behind power plant from Aug. 19 to Sept. 6. So bike commuters keep these periodic closures on a portion of the Mount Vernon Trail in mind.

Rock out with Moody Blues front man

It’s Ha Ha at Ri Ra, which means Wednesday comedy night
 at Ri-Ra restaurant, 2915 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington. Laugh in the back room while enjoying half-price burgers and $3 Stellas. Showroom opens at 7 p.m.
