Waynewood School will host its annual Patriots Day Celebration on May 25th at 10:00 a.m.
This celebration is to give thanks to all the Community Helpers – Policemen, Firemen, Sheriffs, and the military who help us and keep us safe. Dan Storck, School Board Representative will make a guest appearancein his Abraham Lincoln attire. Abe Lincoln will talk to the students about being honest and being a good citizen. Parents and friends are also invited to attend. All military will be recognized and thanked for their service. Students will be singing Patriotic Songs: It’s a Grand Ole Flag, This Land Is Your Land, This Land Is My Land, and God Bless America.

More About Waynewood Elementary School
Waynewood Elementary School, which is located along the Potomac River between historic Mount Vernon and Old Town Alexandria, serves about 700 students.
The school offers both multi-age and single grade classes for students in kindergarten through grade two. A school-based gifted and talented program is available for eligible students in grades three through six.
Some of its after-school programs including Hands-On-Science, drama, Foreign Language Experience (FLEX) Program, Odyssey of the Mind and Math Olympiads. The principal is James Meier.
