The Marsh in Bloom: Nature Walk at the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve
George Washington Memorial Parkway, Alexandria, VA | Get Directions »
FREE
In late summer, the marsh is in bloom and humming with pollinators. Please join us for a nature walk led by Dr. Elizabeth Wells, associate professor emerita of botany at the George Washington University. The emphasis will be on native plants and identification of “pollinator syndromes” — flower characteristics (such as color, fragrance or shape) that may appeal to a particular type of pollinator.
The walk is co-sponsored by the Friends of Dyke Marsh and the Potowmack Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society. It is free and open to all.
