Whitman Student Wins Honors
Fairfax County students bring home prizes in the 2012 Virginia History Day Competition.
A Walt Whitman Middle School student was recently honored in the 2012 Virginia History Day Competition.
Kylee Bush received the second-place award for for “Suck It Up and Drive on Soldier—PTSD” in the Junior Individual Exhibit, according to Fairfax County Public Schools. The competition was held in Williamsburg.
Students winning first-place honors were students from Springfield Estates Elementary School and West Springfield High School. Second-place winners came from West Springfield High School and Fairfax High School.
Third-place winners also came from West Springfield High School.
Students who earned a first or second place award are eligible to compete in the National History Day competition at the University of Maryland, College Park, in June.
