Republican U.S. Senate candidate George Allen will speak at a Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber Commerce roundtable discussion Wednesday morning.

Allen is running against Democrat Tim Kaine.

The event is free for chamber members. It will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chamber, 6911 Richmond Highway, Suite 320.

Allen is expected to discuss important issues facing local businesses, in Virginia and nationwide. The meeting is co-sponsored by the Hispanic Business Advisory Council Legislative Affairs Committee.

Allen, previously a U.S. senator from Virginia and governor, currently serves on the Reagan Ranch Board of Governors of Young America's Foundation, where he is a Reagan Ranch Presidential Scholar.
