The forecast for the Columbus Day holiday is for cloudy and cooler than average temperatures, with highs only reaching 55 degrees according to the National Weather Service. The average temperature for this time of year is 70 degrees.
The good news for Monday is there is no rain in the forecast during the day, according to the NWS. (The Weather Channel gives the area a 20 percent chance of rain on Monday.) Chances for rain increase to 30 percent for Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures increase on Tuesday to 61 degrees with a slight chance of rain, 20 percent. Wednesday and Thursday are looking good — mostly sunshine and a high of 73 degrees on Wednesday. Temperatures take another dip on Thursday with a high of 61 degrees and sunny skies. Weather.com is calling for a high of 66 degrees on Thursday.
There's a slight chance of rain, 20 percent, on Friday with high temperatures of about 70 degrees. Weather.com is saying Saturday should be picture-perfect with sunny skies, a high of 65 degrees and a zero percent chance of rain. Sunday is expected to be cloudy.
According to Weather Underground, the high temperature for Oct. 8 was 91 degrees in 2007; the lowest temperature was 36 degrees in 1964.
