Supervisor Hyland to Address VOICE Supporters Monday

Hyland will tour fields at West Potomac High School and Mount Vernon High School.

Mount Vernon District Supervisor Gerry Hyland will meet with parents, students, and VOICE leaders Monday to provide an update on improving local recreational facilities.

Supervisor Hyland will join Park Board rep Linwood Gorham and School Board member Dan Storck for a tour of the practice fields and stadium field at West Potomac High School and hear updates from the Wolverine Athletic Boosters. Hyland, Gorham, and Storck will then visit Mount Vernon High School to deliver an update on improving local recreational facilities.

Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay took a tour of Muddy Hole Farm Park, Audubon neighborhood, Mount Vernon Woods Park, and Mount Vernon High School in August. These tours stemmed from a 400-person public meeting organized by VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement) in June to push for more investment in youth recreation facilities and access to after-school programs for local youth.

Supervisor Hyland will be meeting with parents, students, and VOICE supporters at West Potomac High School at 6 p.m. Monday. He will then give an update at Mount Vernon High School at 6:45 p.m.

Why do all Hyland's press releases/articles/stories talk about him addressing supporters, and never about an honest dialog with opponents or undecideds?
