PHOTOS: Spring Comes to Dyke Marsh
Local residents flock to park to enjoy warm weather.
Families, joggers and cyclists flocked to Dyke Marsh this weekend to enjoy the spring weather and greenery sprouting up alongside the trailside. Birds chirped loudly as they flew across the water or hopped through the underbrush. By late Saturday afternoon, growing winds had the water lapping up briskly against the shore.
Dyke Marsh is the last large tidal freshwater wetland in the Washington area, a remnant of extensive marshes that once lined the Potomac River.
