Every Fairfax County RECenter except for George Washington will be open until 6 p.m. Wednesday so local residents can enjoy air conditioning, use the shower and recharge cellphones, medical and other electronic devices.

The normal fee for showers has been waived. However, residents must bring their own towels and toiletries. RECenters will open at their regularly scheduled time.

The Mount Vernon RECenter is located at 2017 Belle View Blvd., Alexandria. The facility opens at 6 a.m.
