Police Cruiser Struck During Drug-Related Traffic Stop

The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

 

A Fairfax County police car was struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop Aug. 5, leaving one woman with minor injuries.

An officer conducted a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. in the 8300 block of Richmond Highway. An investigation led to the arrests of Warren Richardson, 23; Deonte Richardson, 19; and Devonte Richardson, 19, all of Maryland. Each man was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

During the investigation, another vehicle struck a police car, which was pushed into a second police car. The incident injured one woman, who was not an officer. Erwin Morales-Parada, 30, of Alexandria was charged with driving while intoxicated.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

  • Police investigated an assault at 6 p.m. Aug. 3 in the 8200 block of Russell Road. Two men reported they were cut following an altercation with two suspects. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
  • A burglary was reported at 10 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 7900 block of Andrus Court. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a purse and its contents. Forced entry was made through a rear door.
  • Two guitars were reported stolen from a residence in the 2600 block of Arlington Drive.
  • A cell phone was reported stolen from a residence in the 2700 block of Arlington Drive.
  • A pair of shoes was reported stolen from a residence in the 3000 block of Furman Lane.
  • Four rims were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3100 block of Furman Lane.
  • A wallet was reported stolen from a business in the 4000 block of Gibbs Street.
  • License plate stickers were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3800 block of Havenwood Place.
  • A laptop computer was reported stolen from a residence in the 8400 block of Osman Drive.
  • A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 7400 block of Rebecca Drive.
  • A cell phone was reported stolen from a business in the 8000 block of Richmond Highway.
  • Clothes were reported stolen from a business at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Arlington Drive.
  • Cash was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 9000 block of Vernon View Drive.
  • A wallet was reported stolen from a business in the 6900 block of Telegraph Road.
  • Four tires were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 6500 block of Tower Drive.
  • A 2002 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 8800 block of Pear Tree Village Court.
