Jones Point Park has been a work in progress for some time. The National Park Service owns and operates the park, which closed in November 2010 to undergo significant renovations.

The 65-acre park is scheduled to reopen in late June.

Thanks to Patch reader Kevin Beekman for sending along this photo, taken Friday of the current renovations.

The park gets its name from Jones Point Light, a lighthouse built in 1855 at the park's southern edge.

For more information, visit the city's Recreation Parks & Cultural Activities page or the National Park Service site about the park.
