Jones Point Park has been a work in progress for some time. The National Park Service owns and operates the park, which closed in November 2010 to undergo significant renovations.
The 65-acre park is scheduled to reopen in late June.

The park gets its name from Jones Point Light, a lighthouse built in 1855 at the park's southern edge.
