UPDATE: Police I.D. Man Killed at Huntington Avenue and Richmond Highway
Driver of truck that struck man stayed on the scene and called police.
UPATE (3:15 p.m., Oct. 19):
The deceased has been identified as Michael Ingram, 27, of Washington, D.C., according to a Fairfax County Police Department news release.
UPDATE (1:45 p.m.):
Fairfax County Police are investigating the fatal pedestrian crash that occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Thursday. A 64-year-old man was operating a 2002 Kenworth dump truck northbound in the right lane of Richmond Highway just south of Huntington Avenue.
A male pedestrian walked into the unlit roadway, crossing left to right and walked into the path of the oncoming dump truck. The driver took evasive action but was unable to avoid striking the man.
The driver stopped and called police. The pedestrian was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and pronounced dead. Speed and alcohol are not a factor for the driver.
The investigation is ongoing. The name of the deceased is being held pending the notification of next of kin.

(Original Story): A pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck at Huntington Avenue and Richmond Highway Thursday at about 2 a.m., according to a report from BNN.
The victim was reportedly dead at the scene.
A Fairfax County Fire and Rescue communications employee confirmed the death and said a public information officer would have more information later Thursday morning.
