Oscar-Worthy Cocktails
A round-up of delicious concoctions to enjoy during your Oscar party
It's that time of year again—the 84th Annual Academy Awards takes place Sunday! Whether you choose to tune in for the fashion, the awards, or are forced into watching, you should definitely have something fun to drink. You can be sure that come Sunday night I will have a cocktail in hand...
Below are several easy to make libations to help liven up your viewing party. For recipes, follow the hyperlinks.
- The Sidecar: A classic cocktail perfect for a glitzy evening. The Sidecar is a mixture of brandy or cognac, lemon juice, and orange liqueur served with a sugared rim. Lately, this has been one of my go-to drinks, and you should seriously consider making it yours.
- Clementine, Bourbon, & Clove: I found this lovely winter cocktail on the food blog Two Tarts, and I love the unique combination of fresh clementine juice, bourbon and a hint of clove.
- The Blood Orange French 75: I may have mentioned my adoration of blood oranges a few thousand times, so my apologies for saying it once more—get yourself some blood oranges while you still can! This drink hails from the blog Cookie and Kate and is a combination of fresh blood orange juice, gin, lemon juice and Champagne. I believe I've found my drink of choice for the Oscars.
- Vieux Mot: A refreshing cocktail made with gin, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, and simple syrup that is perfect for sipping.
