Off-duty Fairfax County firefighters are sponsoring free children’s haircuts today at the Gum Springs Community Center.

The event, sponsored by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the center, located at 8100 Fordson Rd.

Firefighters/barbers, the Progressive Firefighters of Fairfax County, Inc., WKYS 93.9 FM and local barbers throughout the community will provide free haircuts for local kids on free or reduced lunch plans in anticipation of the new school year.
