Belle View Shopping Center Prepares For The Holidays
Shops at the Belle View Shopping Center prepare for the gift giving season early
If shops across the country are to be believed, it's Christmas already and holiday displays are popping up all over the Belle View Shopping Center.
Kathy's Corner, Unwined and new-comer, Richard Carroll all have the holidays on the brain.
"Our ornament display began in July, so ordering was June," Kathy's Corner employee Kimberly Bayliss said.
"My husband, Richard, is visiting tradeshows as we speak, picking up items for Christmas," co-owner Carol Lowi said.
Even though business is expected to pick up, the thought of hiring seasonal help isn't on the agenda. Kathy's Corner has no plans to hire seasonal employees, and neither do the others.
"We won't hire extra help," Unwined manager Renee Lorraine said. "We'll just use the help we already have, more."
"We generally need extra help for the holidays," Lowi said. "But we have extended family that comes in to help."
These shops specialize in unique gifts and all expect to see business boom, despite the bad economy. Heartfelt gifts have been taking precedence over loads of cheap items.
"We deal with unique and local products, all very high quality," Lorraine said. " If you come in here looking to spend twenty dollars, whatever you get will be a quality product. You can even walk into empty handed and leave with a hand selected, beautifully wrapped gift."
"We dabble in a little bit of everything; everybody's taste is here," Lowi said. "We want this to be a comfortable, happy store, where all are finding interesting things.
