Belle View Safeway Renovations Underway
Since closing Sept. 29 for renovations, construction is moving along.
Renovations and additions to Belle View Safeway are underway and seem to be going smoothly. Fencing around the area has been erected for safety concerns.
The supermarket is expected to reopen in March 2013, said Safeway spokesman Craig Muckle earlier this year.
The work will add about 5,300 square feet to the store, for a total of 45,000 square feet.

The renovated store will feature new meat and seafood department service, a Starbucks kiosk and an expanded bakery. Six self-checkout stands will also be added.
The supermarket is located at 1624 Belle View Blvd. Shoppers can still patronize Safeway at the Fort Hunt Safeway, located at 7900 Fort Hunt Rd. in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center.
