Annual Fashion Show to Benefit Campagna Center Set for Thursday
ABC-7-WJLA’s Britt McHenry to emcee Junior Friends of Campagna Center's 13th annual 'Toast to Fashion' event at Belle Haven Country Club.
The Junior Friends of The Campagna Center will hold their 13th Annual Toast to Fashion Thursday from 6:30-10 p.m. at Belle Haven Country Club. The annual event features a fashion show, marketplace, raffle, and cocktail reception.
For the second year, ABC-7/WJLA’s Britt McHenry will handle emcee duties. Proceeds from the event help support programs of The Campagna Center, which offers outreach programs to Alexandria families and children.
“We are grateful that such an event can bring together our community partners and friends for an evening of fun while raising critical funds that help us serve Alexandria’s most deserving children and families," said Tammy Mann, president and CEO of The Campagna Center, in a news release.
The event will also honor several "Junior Friend" volunteers and community supporters with the following awards:
- The Golden Halo Award, recognizing a member of Junior Friends who has demonstrated a selfless commitment to fundraising, will be awarded to Allison Priebe Brooks.
- The Barbara Lee Pratt Heart of Gold Award, awarded to a Junior Friends member who has distinguished herself through leadership and personal dedication to the advancement of The Campagna Center’s mission, will be presented to Nicole Duncan.
- The Anne Culbert Legacy of Service Award recognizes a member of the community who has left a profound and sustained legacy on an organization through his or her dedication, spirit, leadership and influence; this will be awarded to Carrie Lee Garland.
- The Unsung Hero Award, recognizes a member of the Junior Friends who has given their time and expertise to the fundraising efforts of the Junior Friends and often does so without recognition. This is the first time this award is being presented and will be given posthumously to Elizabeth Pignatello, a beloved Junior Friend who tragically died in 2011. The award will be received by her mother, Enid Robinson.
“The Junior Friends is a membership organization committed to helping raise funds for The Campagna Center, an organization that is critical to meeting the educational needs of our community, but we also like to have fun—Toast to Fashion is just the ticket!” said Jane Spence, chair of the Junior Friends of The Campagna Center, in the release.
“From a wonderful marketplace, that features some of the most celebrated boutiques in the area, to a cocktail reception, a raffle, and to the grand event of the evening—the fashion show itself, there is something for everyone," she noted. "For the basketball fans, the March Madness tournament will even be showing. It is the perfect night out so grab a bunch of your friends, and let’s all make a toast to fashion!”
Tickets are $60 each and can be purchased here.
