The Mount Vernon Athletic Club, a local health and tennis club, hosted the Third Annual Helping Hands on Friday, April 13. The charity tennis event raised $15,000 for this worthy cause.

Helping Hands benefits Inova Fairfax Hospital pediatric oncology programs. The emphasis is on children’s access to education, physical exercise and activities and maintenance of connections with family and friends.

Chairpersons Ellen McMichael and Dave Cooper said, “It is a joy to organize this event for such a worthwhile cause.”

Tennis round robins, a silent auction, and a raffle, along with court sponsors, were the main contributors for the total earned.
